New jewellery / Gemwaith newydd

I've been working on my own jewellery for the last two months, trying to create designs that could apply to all ages. I definitely wanted them to be Sterling Silver as a lot of work had gone into them and I want them to last; to be a meaningful present or gift. I thought that if they were wrapped already it would be an easy way to sell them, I have to keep 4 mecklaces out for size. I think I've made them desirable to any celebration, from Christmas, to Birthday, to Valantine's.
Here are my final ideas and designs.

Rwyf fi wedi bod yn dylunio fy ngemwaith fy hun yn y ddau fis dwethaf, gan drio creu dyluniadau a all ddenu pobl o bob oed. Roeddwn i'n siwr fy mod eisiau iddynt fod yn Arian gan bod eu bod wedi cymeryd gymaint o amser i'w gwneud; gan obeithio bod yr Arian yn mynd i newid y necles i fod yn anrheg personol. Gan ei lapio yn barod mae'n gwneud nhw'n haws i werthu, ond mae'n rhaid i mi gadw tua 4 allan er mwyn ei trio o ran maint. Rwy'n credu fy mod wedi ei gwneud yn berthnasol ar gyfer unrhyw achlysur, o fod yn anrheg nadolig, i anrheg penblwydd a anrheg San Ffolant.
Dyma rai o fy ngwaith diweddaraf.

I'M CURRENTLY SELLING MY JEWELLERY ON http://www.etsy.com/
MY ONLINE SHOP IS http://www.etsy.com/shop/ElunedGlyn

RWY'N GWERTHU FY NGEMWAITH AR http://www.etsy.com/
FY SIOP AR-LEIN YW http://www.etsy.com/shop/ElunedGlyn

We visited Bristol to sell crafts and home-made gifts last weekend and I sold three of my necklaces there. Was a good start but have made over 50 necklaces and 50 pairs of earrings, including heart studs so will see how they go in the other Christmas markets we've entered for. I'm really proud of my work, so I hope other people will like them too, I feel like I've seen them too much now so aren't the best person to judge how successful they really are.

Fe wnaethom ni ymweld â Bryste i werthu gwaith llaw a gwaith crefft wythnos dwethaf, fe werthais i dri necles. Mae'n ddechrau da, ond eisiau gwerthu llawer mwy gan fy mod wedi gwneud 50 necles a 50 set o glustlysau, gan gynnwys stydiau clustiau calonnau, gewn ni weld sut fydd gwerthu rheina yn mynd! Rwy'n hapus iawn ar ol gwneud y pecynnu i gyd, ond dwi'n teimlo fel fy mod wedi ei gweld ormod i allu barnu'r gwaith i weld pa mor llwyddiannus ydynt go iawn!

I will write about my project and my change of idea and design, concept and overall mind set in the next blog. Time for bed now!

Fe wna i ysgrifennu am fy mhrosiect a sut yr ydw i wedi newid syniadau, dyluniadau a cysyniad y gwaith yn fy mlog nesaf. Amser gwely!

Summer experience and starting a new project / Profiad yr Haf a dechrau prosiect newydd

Rwyf newydd ddechrau fy nhrydedd flwyddyn ac yn nerfus iawn, ond yn barod am sialens a blwyddyn anodd iawn! Rwyf fi wedi bod yn brysur iawn dros yr Haf, nid yn unig yn gweithio adref ond rwyf wedi bod yn helpu â'r Wyl Serameg yn Aberystwyth am wythnos. Roedd yr wythnos yn brofiad gwych i wneud ffrindiau newydd, ond hefyd i weld yn union sut mae artistiaid Serameg yn dangos eu gwaith a'u sgiliau. Roedd nifer o ddarlithoedd gwahanol gan gynnwys darlith anhygoel gan Emma Rogers yn dangos ei gwaith â anifeiliaid a'r ffigwr dynol. Fe gefais i gyfle i werthu fy nghwpan yn y sêl cwpanau a helpu ar y dderbynfa.

I have just started my third year and am very nervous, but ready for a new challenge and a very difficult year! I have been very busy over the summer, not only working home but I've also been helping with the International Ceramic Festival at Aberystwyth for a week. It was a brilliant experience and I have made a lot of friends, but also it was interesting to see exactly how different ceramicists and potters present their work and skills. There were many different lectures including some amazing lectures by Emma Rogers presenting her work with animals and the human figure. I got the chance to sell my work in the cup sale which was great, I was mainly helping at reception but also answering any queries by the artists.

Mateusz Grobelny from Poland.

Rwyf hefyd wedi bod yn gweithio yn MOMA Cymru ym Machynlleth dros yr Haf, yn goruchwylio'r oriel dros amser Gwyl Machynlleth. Fe ddaeth Wedi 7 i ffilmio ar gyfer ei rhaglen teledu, a fe wnes i gyfweliad ar gyfer MOMA am yr Wyl Gerddoriaeth yno. Roedd hynny yn brofiad a hanner! Roedd hi'n ddiddorol iawn gweithio yn yr oriel, i weld yr ochr hynny o'r byd celf.

I have also been working at MOMA Wales in Machynlleth over the summer, supervising the gallery over the Machynlleth Festival week. A television crew also came to record for Wedi 7, and I was interviewed. That was an experience in itself! It was very interesting working at the gallery, and to see that side of the art world.

Rwyf wedi dechrau fy mhrosiect newydd ar gyfer y drydedd blwyddyn gan gario ymlaen â'r thema o Gymreictod a fy etifeddiaeth. Mae'n thema sy'n bwysig i mi, ac rwyf wedi dechrau edrych ar sut mae amser yn newid teuluoedd a bywydau yn enwedig trwy'r cof. Mae nifer o luniau i'w gael i'w bryny yn farchnad Machynlleth ble does neb yn gwybod pwy ydy'r pobl yma. Allen nhw fod yn perthyn i fi, neu i unrhyw un sy'n edrych arnynt. Rwyn meddwl ehangu y syniad yma ar gyfer gweddill fy mhrosiect.

I have started my new project for my third year which carries on with my last year theme of my Welsh heritage. This theme is very important to me, and I've started looking at how time in particular can change families and lives through the loss of memory. It's possible to buy old portraits in Machynlleth market, of people that no one has claimed as their own families. Who are these people? They could be related to me, only i don't know that they are. I find this interesting and would like to expand this idea for the rest of my project.

Work experience with Lowri Davies / Profiad gwaith a Lowri Davies

Rwyf wedi bod yn brysur ar brofiad gwaith â Lowri Davies dros y bythefnos ddiwethaf, ac wedi joio hyd yn hyn! Aethom ni i weld gwaith Cefyn Burgess yng Nghanolfan y Mileniwm, brasluniau mewn tecstiliau o gapeli cymru a lloegr, yn enwedig Lerpwl wnaeth dynnu fy sylw. Rwyf hefyd wedi bod yn cael gwersi Photoshop â Lowri, fydd yn help mawr gan fy mod yn defnyddio decals eithaf tipwyn gyda fy ngwaith Serameg. Fe wnaethom ni hefyd boster ar gyfer Penwythnos Agored Fireworks ar y 4ydd a 5ed o Fehefin.

Have been busy on Work Placement with Lowri Davies for the last two weeks, and have really enjoyed so far. Have visited the Millenium Centre to see Cefyn Burgess' exhibition of Welsh and English chapels in textiles.
Have been having lessons with Lowri Davies with photoshop, as I use a lot of decals so will be very handy to gain some more skills in that way, we made the poster for the Fireworks Open Weekend that's happening on the 4th and 5th of June.

Fe es i i weld Lowri Davies yn gwneud cyflwyniad i Ferched y Wawr, Talybont ar ddydd Llun, oedd yn ddiddorol iawn. Roedd hi'n ddiddorol cael gweld y gwahanol fathau o rwpiau y mae hi'n delio â.

I went to see Lowri Davies demonstrate to a WI group in Talybont on Monday, which was really interesting to see all the different variety of people that like hearing about her work.

Dydd Mawrth fe aethom i Stoke on Trent i nol clai ar gyfer gwaith Lowri Davies. Fe aethom i amgueddfa Wedwood oedd yn agoriad llygad! Ro'n i'n hoff iawn o'r teiliau arbrofi i gyd, mae'n amlwg ei bod yn arbenigwyr yn ei gwaith!

Then, on Tuesday we went to Stoke on Trent to pick up about a million tubs of bone china clay !! And had enough time to visit the wedgwood museum on the way! Really loved all the test tiles they had in a big chest of drawers, it was obvious that they were the masters of glazing! I thought I'd done a lot of tests!

Diwrnod rhydd dydd Mercher felly fe es i helpu Dad ym Mhenweddig â dosbarth Serameg, roedd hi'n ddiddorol cael deall nad ydw i am ddysgu o gwbl! Sgen i ddim yr amynedd!

Had a free day on Wednesday so decided to go to help my dad in Penweddig school with some ceramic classes, was quite good to learn that I definitely don't want to teach! I think I just don't have the patience!

Roedd agoriad arddangosfa Lowri Davies yn y Drenewydd ar ddydd Iau, felly es i i weld y gwaith i gyd. Ro'n i'n hoff o waith Anne Gibbs, Bone China gyda nydwyddau a phiniau wedi ei dal at ei gilydd - gwaith diddorol iawn!

The opening of Lowri Davies' curated show in Newtown was on Thursday, so went to see all the work! Loved Anne Gibbs work with bone china pieces on pins. I felt it to be a new and fresh way of working with clay.

Anne Gibbs in Craft in the Bay

Rwyf wedi bod yn gweithio yn Craft at the Bay am y ddau ddiwrnod ddwethaf, oedd yn brofiad anhygoel! Rwyf wedi dysgu gymaint am sut mae rhedeg galeri a sut y maent yn gweithio. Rwyf hefyd wedi cwrdd a nifer o'r artistiaid sy'n dangos ei gwaith yno yn barhaol! Rwy'n gobeithio gweithio yno chydig mwy os yn bosib!

For the last two days, I've then been working in Craft in the Bay which was an amazing experience! I've learnt so much about working in galleries, and how they work. I've also met some of the artists that have their work there, which was really nice! Hopefully will work some more there too!

Rwyf wedi bod yn meddwl am brosiect newydd i weithio arno a sut i'w ddechrau. Dim ond prosiect dablygu yw'r prosiect i fod, ond rwy'n hoff o'r syniad o drio dablygu syniadau cyn i mi ddechrau fy mlwyddyn olaf. Rwyf wedi bod yn edrych ar fy llinach achau, yn enwedig ochr fy mam. Fe ddes i o hyd i lyfr o fy nheulu ers Oes Victoria ac rwyf am edrych arnynt i fy ysbrydoli ar gyfer y prosiect yma. Rwyf hefyd wedi dod o hyd i wybodaeth ar fy mhentref a sut yr oedd yn arfer bod yn harbwr prysur i gario cargo i ddyffryn dyfi. Rwy'n meddwl bod y wybodaeth yma yn ddiddorol iawn, ac am edrych ar fwy o bentrefi tebyg, er enghraifft Dylife. Rwyf hefyd wedi bod yn edrych ar storiau y pentrefi, ac wedi meddwl am recordio fy nain yn adrodd rhai storiau yr oedd yn ei gwybod ers pan oedd hi'n blentyn.

I've been thinking about my new project and what should I do for it. It's only a research project but I think it can be a great time to start thinking about what I'd like to do next year. I've been looking into my family tree, in particular my mother's side, and looking at an old book from as far back as the victorian age with my ancestors in. Found it such a treasure and would love to work with it. Also, found many information books on my village at home and how it used to be a massive import town for most of Mid-Wales. Found this fascinating and would love to look into the derelict and ghost villages of my home town. Dylife is also a derelict slate quarry village that used to be very busy. I've also been looking into some stories and fables about these villages, have thought about recording my grandparents talk of some of the stories they knew as children.

Mae gen i amser prysur o fy mlaen gan fy mod angen gwneud portffolio ar gyfer cyfweliad, mae gen i hefyd profiad gwaith am bythefnos arall. Mae'n rhaid i fy nhraethawd fod i mewn erbyn Hydref! Rwy'n edrych ar Festival of Britain 1951 a'r cylchwyl sy'n digwydd y flwyddyn hon. Rwy'n edrych ymlaen i fynd i Llundain i weld y casgliad sydd gennyn nhw o 1951. Dyna i gyd am wan!

I've got a busy time ahead as I need to sort out a portpholio for an interview, also I have my placement for another two weeks. My dissertation needs to be handed in by October! I'm looking at the Festival of Britain 1951 and the diamond anniversary celebrations this year, looking forward to visiting London over the summer to see the collections they have from 1951. That's all for now!

WORK WORK WORK / GWAITH GWAITH GWAITH!

Ar ôl gorffen fy ail dymor yn y coleg, dwi wedi bod yn trio concentratio ar gwneud fy ngwaith yn fwy hygyrch. Wedi dechrau gyda'r wefan yma, ac am wneud CV a portffolio ar gyfer Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Wrexham. Fe fues i yn Ffrainc gyda fy nheulu ac wedi mwynhau'r adeiladau, yn enwedig mynd i amgueddfa yn Sarlat, gyda gwaith Etienne Hadju yno. Gwaith cerfluniaeth a serameg mewn gwyn yn edrych ar goed a natur. Rwy'n gobeithio yn y tymor nesaf y byddaf yn hyderys â'r thema y byddaf yn ei ddewis. Mi fydd o yn bendant i wneud a'n hetifeddiaeth i, a traddodiadau Cymru.

After finishing my second term in university, I've been trying to concentrate on making my work more accessible. I've started this website and am going to write up my CV and a portpholio for the National Eisteddfod in Wrexham. I visited France with my family and really enjoyed the architecture there, especially visiting a museum in Sarlat, with the work of Etienne Hadju there. Her work is mostly sculpture and ceramics. White and pure, looking at nature and trees in particular. I hope that in the next term I will be confident with the theme i choose. It will most definitely be on the over-riding theme of my heritage, and Welsh tradition.
